Job summary

SonderMind is hiring a Senior Staff Data Engineer to lead data platform initiatives supporting analytics, ML, and clinical outcomes. You will own data pipelines and architecture, drive quality and reliability, and mentor engineers in a regulated healthcare context.

You will collaborate with analytics, science, and product teams to design scalable models, ensure privacy and security, and deliver trusted data across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data/ platform engineering or backend engineering roles.
• Strong SQL and Python expertise; hands‑on with production pipelines.
• Experience with modern data platforms, orchestration tools, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core data pipelines and infrastructure for analytics, ML, and experimentation.
• Own data architecture related to ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.
• Establish data quality, observability, and reliability standards including SLAs and monitoring.
• Collaborate with analytics, data science, and product teams to translate needs into data models and pipelines.
• Lead initiatives to improve code quality, testing, and data contracts; mentor peers.
