Job summary

Pennoni in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to contribute to Land Development projects on a full-time direct basis. The role supports private and public site development across markets from our Raleigh office.

The candidate will oversee development plans, coordinate regulatory permits, perform zoning studies, and contribute to stormwater design while ensuring compliance and client engagement. A Civil Engineering background and 4+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• 4+ years of professional experience in Engineering, preferably land development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development of Land Development Plans; prepare drawings, specs and reports.
• Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale projects.
• Perform zoning interpretation and feasibility studies, drawings and reports.
• Contribute to stormwater management design including H&H modeling.
• Apply ordinances/regulations and manage permitting processes.
• Engage with regulatory agencies and interface with clients.
• Manage all project aspects and nurture client relationships.
• Provide quality control of staff design and reports.
• Prepare proposals and track budgets for profitability.
