Job summary
Coinbase is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Blockchain Platform to define the technical vision and scale infrastructure that connects our products to the crypto economy. You will own nodes, indexers, wallets and orchestration systems across 60+ networks and 300+ tokens, shaping the wallet stack and asset lifecycle.

Qualifications
- 12+ years software engineering experience with scale and auditability.
- Hands-on with blockchain protocols (node/protocol level).
- Experience leading multi-team architectural initiatives.
- Experience applying AI to reduce operational toil in infra contexts.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.
Responsibilities
- Define multi-quarter technical strategy for Blockchain Platform across nodes, wallets, indexing and asset lifecycle.
- Architect and evolve core platform infrastructure for high availability, low latency, cost efficiency, and security at global scale.
- Lead end-to-end design and rollout of cross-team architectural initiatives (wallet stack rearchitecture, indexing stack redesign, asset identifier system).
- Drive engineering standards for correctness, security, reliability, testing and observability across crypto asset operations.
- Own data-driven reliability improvements using observability signals to identify and remediate platform gaps.
- Represent Blockchain Platform in executive and cross-org forums and secure buy-in for high-impact technical bets.
