Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Blockchain Platform team to define the technical vision for the infrastructure powering every Coinbase product across 60+ blockchains and 300+ tokens. You will lead architecture for wallet stacks, indexing systems, and asset identification at global scale, driving reliability, security, and performance with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience at staff-plus level
• Hands-on experience with blockchain protocols at node/protocol level (e.g., EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin, L2s)
• Proven track record leading large-scale multi-team architectural initiatives
• Experience applying AI/agent-based automation to reduce operational toil
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve efficiency, cost, and quality

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for Blockchain Platform, including nodes, wallets, indexing, and asset lifecycle
• Architect and evolve core platform infrastructure for high availability, low latency, and security at global scale
• Lead end-to-end design and rollout of large cross-team architectural initiatives with clear milestones
• Drive engineering standards for correctness, security, reliability, testing, and observability across crypto asset operations
• Own data-driven reliability improvements using observability signals to identify gaps and drive remediation
• Represent Blockchain Platform in executive forums, communicating tradeoffs and securing buy-in for high-impact bets
