Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Blockchain Platform to define the technical vision across nodes, indexers, wallets, and asset systems powering actions across 60+ networks. You will shape the wallet stack, indexing infrastructure, and asset identifiers with a focus on speed, cost, and security.

You will lead cross-team architectural initiatives, enforce engineering standards, and use observability data to drive reliability improvements at global scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with senior staff+ capabilities.
• Experience with blockchain protocols at node or protocol level (e.g., EVM, Solana, Bitcoin).
• Proven track record leading large multi-team architectural initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for Blockchain Platform.
• Architect and evolve core platform infrastructure (nodes, indexers, wallets) for high availability and security.
• Lead end-to-end design and rollout of cross-team initiatives (wallet stack, indexing stack).
• Drive engineering standards for correctness, security, reliability, testing, and observability.
• Own data-driven reliability improvements using observability signals to reduce platform gaps and lead remediation.
• Represent Blockchain Platform in executive forums and secure buy-in for high-impact technical bets.
