Uber is seeking a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to set the technical direction for AV and Customer Obsession experiences. You will own architecture across AV, Fleet, Uber for Business, and Direct integrations, unifying the technical foundation as these businesses scale.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and platform teams to define scalable backend systems, prevent fragmentation, and shape next-gen customer support. Leadership and cross-team influence are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in backend languages (Go/Java/C++).
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and high availability.

• Establish scalable integration patterns across multiple businesses (Fleet, U4B, Direct).
• Partner with Customer Obsession Platform team to leverage shared platform and AI capabilities.

• Drive alignment across Engineering, Product, Operations, and platform teams.
• Mentor Senior engineers toward Staff-level impact.
