Job summary

Wonder is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead backend initiatives on the Supply Chain Technology team in a hands-on role. You will own cross-system architecture spanning ordering, planning, production, inventory, and fulfillment, mentoring engineers and shaping scalable, robust systems.

Mission-critical work with Kotlin on the JVM, collaborating with product, design, data, and operations to deliver reliable, high-performance services in a hybrid NYC environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related field.
• 9+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong system design skills and production services.
• Proficiency in at least one JVM language (Kotlin preferred).
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design core services for ordering, planning, production, inventory, and fulfillment.
• Lead cross-system architectural design across multiple domains.
• Define event models, boundaries, data contracts.
• Build scalable services integrating with inventory, warehouses, and suppliers.
• Mentor senior staff engineers and drive code quality.
• Own design reviews and postmortems toward systemic fixes.
