Job summary

Wonder is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to set the technical direction for our supply chain systems. This hands-on, backend-focused IC role will own cross-system architecture across ordering, planning, production, inventory, and fulfillment, partnering with product, design, data, and operations.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive architectural decisions, and build scalable services while maintaining a focus on reliability, performance, and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 9+ years in backend software engineering, with staff-level experience.
• Strong system design skills and a track record of production services.
• Proficiency in at least one JVM language; Kotlin is preferred.
• Experience owning a technical domain end-to-end from data model to production.
• Mentoring senior engineers and raising engineering standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with product, design, and operations.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Experience with complex supply chain, logistics, or warehouse systems.
• Event sourcing and CQRS, including event schema design and replay.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core services for ordering, planning, production, and fulfillment.
• Lead cross‑system designs and drive architectural decisions across teams.
• Define event models, service boundaries, and data contracts.
• Build scalable services and ensure robustness with proper error handling.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews and post‑mortems.
