Job summary

Wonder, a vertically integrated food company, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to set the technical direction for ordering, planning, production, inventory, and fulfillment systems. This hands-on role focuses on backend systems, cross-team collaboration, and delivering scalable services with strong design principles.

You will own cross-system architecture, mentor engineers, and partner with product, design, and operations to ensure reliable delivery and performance in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of backend software engineering experience, including time at a staff level or equivalent scope.
• Strong system design skills and a track record of architecting, shipping, and operating production services.
• Deep proficiency in at least one JVM language; Kotlin preferred.
• Experience owning a technical domain end to end, from data model to production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design core services for ordering, planning, production, inventory, and fulfillment.
• Lead cross-system technical designs and architecture reviews across multiple domains.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers and drive post‑mortems toward systemic fixes.
• Define event models, data contracts, and service boundaries; build scalable integrations with inventory, warehouse, and supplier systems.
