American Family Insurance in Madison, Wisconsin seeks a Supervisory Senior Staff Attorney to supervise outside counsel in managing some of our most complex cases. You will report to a senior manager in the Litigation department.

Qualifications

• Active Juris Doctor degree and bar admission in the practicing state.
• Experience managing complex litigation and supervising outside counsel.
• Strong knowledge of professional responsibility and insurance-related law.
• Ability to analyze statutes and court decisions affecting policy provisions.
• Proven track record in handling civil pleadings, motions, discovery and depositions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise outside counsel in the management of complex litigation.
• Analyze files as litigation progresses and assess settlement options.
• Review motions and briefs and provide strategic feedback.
• Conduct legal research and monitor state statutes and decisions.
• Oversee litigation across multiple lines of business.
