Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team.

You will design, optimize, and deploy AI systems at scale, including foundation model training and inference, with a focus on safety, governance, and observability. You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, PMs, and data teams to advance AI across banking products, leveraging Open Source and SaaS tools such as AWS, HuggingFace, and PyTorch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 10 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's degree with at least 8 years of experience
• At least 10 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java

Responsabilités

• Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
• Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
• Invent and introduce foundation model optimization techniques for performance, cost, latency, throughput
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems
• Define and steer the technical AI architecture vision with reliability and scale
• Lead the establishment of AI performance, safety, and transparency standards
• Drive multi-year platform initiatives unifying data, compute and model lifecycle management
• Mentor senior technical leaders across research, data and engineering
