Job summary

Waymo is hiring for a senior software leader in a hybrid role reporting to the Engineering Manager on the DUE team. You will define technical strategy for autonomous multi-agent systems and drive agentic workflow innovation using LLMs with external tools.

With 10+ years in software, deep AI/ML expertise, and a track record in architecting complex systems, you will mentor teams and shape projects across Waymo’s evaluation lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience focusing on large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and architectural strategy for autonomous multi-agent systems within the DUE Experience team.
• Lead exploration and application of agentic technologies to automate triage workflows.
• Architect and guide scalable agentic frameworks with dynamic tool use and multi-step orchestration.
• Collaborate across teams to apply agentic workflows to the Waymo Driver evaluation lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence in agentic design patterns.
• Turn big-picture concepts into actionable projects and roadmaps for human-on-the-loop systems.
