Job summary

Heartland Scenic Studio Inc. in Omaha, NE seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to manage accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and project accounting, ensuring accurate financial data and timely reporting.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will own payroll-related journal entries, WIP analysis, tax reporting support, and internal controls, collaborating with project managers and operations to continuously improve processes and financial accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience including GL, reconciliations, AR, and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; strong Excel skills.
• Ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable processes and customer invoicing.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and month-end close activities.
• Coordinate project accounting, WIP entries, and job setup in Paylocity/Sage.
• Assist with tax reporting, audits, and documentation.
• Support cash management and internal controls improvements.
