Job summary

Heartland Scenic in Omaha, NE is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to own accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and project accounting, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. You will collaborate with the Finance Director and operations to maintain strong internal controls.

Responsibilities include WIP analysis, payroll-related entries, tax reporting support, audit prep, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Two or more years of progressive accounting experience including GL, reconciliations, AR, and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; proficient with Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Process accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections to maintain cash flow.
• Support project accounting, WIP reporting, and job costing.
• Assist with tax reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and enable timely financial reporting.
