Job summary

Climate Systems, LLC is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The role will manage general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close, while collaborating with the Controller to improve processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and ERP/GL proficiency, with attention to detail and the ability to work independently and with teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including GL accounting and reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office apps.
• Experience with ERP systems and GL software.
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently and resolve discrepancies.
• High accuracy, organization, and deadline discipline.
• Experience with construction accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly financial statement cycle and take ownership of assigned accounting functions.
• Perform daily accounts receivable activities including customer account management and resolution of discrepancies.
• Perform accounts payable activities including vendor management, invoice review, and payment processing.
• Prepare and post daily and monthly general ledger entries including accruals and adjusting entries.
• Assist with payroll processing and related accounting activities.
• Lead monthly close and support year-end close processes.
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues with the Controller's guidance.
• Participate in implementation and improvement of accounting and ERP systems.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, analyses, and special projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve procedures through technology and automation.
• Support the Controller with special projects and other accounting initiatives.
