Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in Westbrook, ME to maintain financial accuracy and GAAP compliance. You will monitor general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and generate detailed reports and analyses reflecting financial status.

Responsibilities include reconciliations, billings, disbursement requests, and analyses. Training or supervising staff may be available. A Bachelor’s in accounting/finance and CPA/CMA/CIA are preferred; strong Excel skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• CPA, CIA or CMA designation preferred.
• Minimum of three years of related experience.
• Ability to apply accounting principles to complex transactions.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality; keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial accuracy, accountability, and GAAP compliance.
• Monitor and control general ledger accounts; prepare journal entries and reports.
• Prepare financial statements and analyses reflecting financial status.
• Ensure timely processing of reconciliations, billings, and analyses.
• Assist with training or supervising staff accounting personnel.
