Job summary

Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, WY, is seeking a Staff Accountant for a full-time role with remote or on-site options. The position supports GAAP-compliant financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger maintenance across hospital and healthcare operations.

The candidate will process accounts payable, post journal entries, and assist with budgeting and financial analysis. Strong Excel/Word skills and 2–5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field; a Bachelor's or related advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience required, preferably within the healthcare services industry.
• Experience in acute care, hospital inpatient, and healthcare operations is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word required

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and prepare accounts payable for payment.
• Enter cash receipts and cash disbursements into the accounting system.
• Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity, including review of transactions and department classifications.
• Support monthly financial reporting by preparing schedules and reconciling accounts.
