Gary Merlino Construction Co., Inc. (GMCC) in Seattle, WA, seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to support monthly close, financial reporting, and GL work across multiple divisions. You'll engage in accounting for projects, WIP, intercompany activity, and asset depreciation within a lean team.

The role emphasizes strong GAAP knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced construction environment. CPA progression is a plus.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; construction or job-cost industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Sage 300 CRE, or similar construction accounting/ERP systems a plus.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• CPA or progress toward CPA a plus, but not required.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Mansioni

• Prepare and post journal entries; perform general ledger reconciliations for assigned divisions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and job cost analysis.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions across GMCC's divisions.
• Maintain and analyze fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
• Support external audit and tax preparation requests.
• Assist with sales/use tax and excise tax filings.
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounting workflows.
• Collaborate with project accountants, operations, and division controllers.
