Soni’s client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with strong energy, curiosity, and a process‑improvement mindset to join a growing Accounting & Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with mid‑to‑large company experience who wants to take full ownership of core accounting processes while helping elevate the department through improved workflows, better documentation, and stronger internal controls. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in month‑end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced, continuously improving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month‑end close deliverables, including reconciliations, workpapers, schedules, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and post journal entries with complete supporting documentation in compliance with US GAAP.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial analysis and provide insights to management.
- Identify process gaps and proactively design, document, and implement improved accounting workflows and controls.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to map out processes and strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy.
- Support operational accounting areas including billing, AP, AR, treasury, taxes, and technical accounting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, schedules, and internal reporting tools.
- Interpret and analyze accounting data to support leadership decision‑making.
- Drive efficiency through standardization, automation, and best‑practice implementation across the accounting function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience in mid‑size/large corporate environments or public accounting.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; CPA or CPA track is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS) and MS Office.
- ERP experience required; NetSuite or similar system strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes, workflows, or internal controls.
- Highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and organized with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working cross‑functionally.
- Experience with data analytics, automation tools, or RPA is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
Compensation
$80,000 to $90,000 annually
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job‑related qualifications.
