JOB DESCRIPTION
SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Finance Department
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Job Summary

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance department by creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This individual will interact with employees across the organization who are purchasing items or services from established vendors and inputting these bills in a timely fashion and ensuring they are paid per Calcium+Company’s policy.
Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)
  • Examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department
  • Input accounts payable with speed and accuracy
  • Manage all vendor inquiries and effectively communicate with vendors and internally to resolve all accounts payable issues
  • Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts
  • Develop and implement proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.
  • Create SOPs, forms, and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping for the Finance team
  • Maintain daily operations within the finance department
  • Maintain a collaborative work style to encourage maximum contribution from all team members
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and reconcile them to the client and corporate P&L
  • Assist with accounts receivable payment applications and handle bank deposits
  • Manage corporate credit card program and employee expense reports and ensure proper financial system entry
  • Match checks to vendor bills
  • Distribute ACH/wire/check payments to vendors and employees
  • Input freelance and intern timesheets
  • Manage monthly and semi-monthly Fixed Asset, Prepaid Expense, and Payroll journal entries
  • Handle annual 1099 processing
  • Assist with year-end internal audit
  • Observe and maintain agency confidentiality
  • Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental standard operating procedures as well as other governmental regulations

Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)
  • 5+ years of experience in public or private financial accounting (advertising agency experience a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Extremely detailed-oriented
  • Ability to work independently, remain organized and multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Goes above and beyond the job description and has the willingness to be flexible for the team, agency, and ultimately the work
