Job summary

Persons Services Corp in Mobile, AL is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. You will ensure financial accuracy through journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant reporting while supporting rapid growth and career development.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field with 4+ years in accounting, preferably in construction or related industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (SAGE preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication and high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for various accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP
• Perform monthly account reconciliations including bank statements, vendor, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Record and file Sales & Use Tax
• Review project costs and collaborate with project teams for accuracy
• Conduct regular reconciliations of vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals and adjusting entries
• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for management decision-making
• Assist with audit preparations and provide supporting documentation

Key Responsibilities
