Job summary

CoreMedical Group is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, this role emphasizes ownership, analytical thinking, and process improvement within a corporate-hybrid environment.

The position requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP proficiency, and strong Excel skills. You will manage general ledger activities, month-end close, reconciliations, and collaborate across departments to enhance controls and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong general ledger, account reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, PivotTables, and data analysis.
• Accounting or ERP system experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organization, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
• CPA designation, audit-support experience, and Epicor familiarity are a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned general ledger accounts and related accounting activities.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and allocations.
• Complete month-end and year-end close responsibilities.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain fixed asset, prepaid, accrued liability, payroll, and other account schedules.
• Analyze expenses, account activity, and financial variances.
• Support financial reporting and budgeting.
• Prepare audit schedules and documentation.
• Assist with assigned tax and compliance filings.
• Partner with Payroll, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Finance, and Operations.
• Maintain and improve accounting SOPs, controls, and documentation.
• Recommend improvements that strengthen accounting accuracy and efficiency.
• Own issues through resolution and communicate findings and recommended next steps.
