Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Staff Accountant, located in Louisville, KY. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing general accounting functions including financial reporting, account reconciliation, and budget preparation. Daily tasks include preparing journal entries, handling month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial analysis and reports to support management decisions. Additionally, this role involves coordinating with internal and external auditors, assisting with tax filings, and contributing to process improvements within the accounting department.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in general accounting practices, financial reporting, and account reconciliation
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and preparing journal entries
• Knowledge of compliance with accounting standards and tax filings
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively with auditors and other stakeholders
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA certification or progress towards CPA is a plus
• Experience in the mining and metals industry is beneficial
