Job description

Job Location: Corporate Indianapolis

Primary Purpose

This individual reviews, maintains, and analyzes the general ledger and financial statements of four to seven assigned mall properties and their related partnership or corporate entities.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain the general ledger accounts for assigned properties
• Prepare and update monthly financial analysis for assigned properties, including budget and forecast variance analysis and commentary
• Prepare the annual operating budget for assigned properties and update periodic financial forecasts
• Prepare and distribute reporting packages to joint-venture partners as may be required by the ownership of assigned properties
• Participate in the year-end close of the assigned properties as well as other assigned tasks
• Responsible for completing special projects, both routine and the occasional, as assigned
• Distribute financial reports to various internal personnel, including property management and leasing personnel; assist them in reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial results
• Assist external auditors with annual and special audits
• Serve as mentor for less experienced staff

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, with a major or concentration in Accounting; CPA is a plus
• Preferable applicant should have 2 to 3 years experience
• Analytical and interpersonal skills
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adhere to strict timetable for completion of assigned accounting responsibilities
• Proficiency with computer-based accounting and spreadsheet applications
• Detail oriented
• Strong analytical ability
