Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable related to the assigned division; bank reconciliations.
• Monitor job costs, labor, equipment usage, subcontractor invoices, and material charges.
• Prepare monthly divisional financial statements and management reporting packages; support audits and controls.

Senior Staff Accountant

Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting of an assigned division. This role supports project managers and operational leadership by ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, proper job cost tracking, compliance with internal controls, and strong financial insight. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting

• o Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities.
• o Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable related to the assigned division.
• o Reconcile bank accounts, inventory and various other balance sheet accounts.

Project Accounting & Job Costing

• o Monitor job costs, labor, equipment usage, subcontractor invoices, and material charges.
• o Review and validate project billings, with a focus on time and materials.
• o Monitor project costs to job quotes to monitor for completeness and accuracy.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• o Prepare monthly divisional financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting packages.
• o Track KPIs and operational metrics relevant to the division.

Compliance, Controls & Audit Support

• o Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
• o Assist with internal and external audit requests.

Cross-Functional Support

• o Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for the assigned division.
• o Provide financial support and guidance to field management, operations, and administrative staff.
• o Contribute to process improvements and technology upgrades to drive efficiency.
