The Intersect Group seeks a Senior Staff Accountant in Alpharetta, GA. Hybrid work arrangement with a direct hire path, offering a compensation range of $85,000 to $90,000. You will manage day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting while partnering with leadership to improve processes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. CPA/CMA preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands on responsibility in staff or senior accountant roles.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and standard accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting month end and year end close processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting and financial systems.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-priority management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries including accruals, allocations, reclassifications, and recurring entries.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Manage accounting activities related to fixed assets, leases, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
  • Support month end and year end close processes while ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
  • Prepare management reports, KPI dashboards, financial analyses, and supporting schedules.
  • Monitor customer invoicing, cash application activities, and account reconciliations.
  • Support accounts payable processing and banking activities as needed.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and working capital management.
  • Support internal and external audits and help maintain strong internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and accounting efficiencies.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, and leadership teams on accounting related matters and business initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff when needed.
