Job summary

Solidigm in Longmont, CO is seeking an SSD Architect to define and evolve domain-level architecture for next-generation data center SSD solutions, influencing cross-functional engineering and delivering high-performance storage products.

You will lead end-to-end product ownership from concept through bring-up, mentor engineers, and drive architectural trade-offs while collaborating with firmware, hardware, and validation teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems architecture and design with hands-on contributions to ASIC and/or firmware development.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the architecture for one or more critical SSD domains (e.g., PCIe/NVMe, memory controller, CPU complex), establishing a clear long-term architectural vision aligned to product and business roadmaps.
• Lead development of architecture specifications, including system flows, hardware/software partitioning, and performance optimization strategies, demonstrating strong strategic thinking and technical depth.
• Drive complex architectural trade-off decisions balancing performance, power, cost, scalability, and time-to-market, applying sound engineering judgment and data-driven decision-making.
• Provide technical leadership across the full product lifecycle—from concept through implementation, validation, and product bring-up—ensuring alignment between architecture and execution.
• Influence ASIC and firmware architecture specifications, design reviews, and validation coverage through rigorous technical reviews and constructive challenge, demonstrating accountability and high standards of excellence.

Education
