Job summary

Solidigm is seeking a Firmware Architect to lead cross-domain architecture for SSD firmware within the Non-volatile Memory Solutions Group. The role is hybrid, based in Rancho Cordova, CA or Longmont, CO, and focuses on driving architectural requirements and delivering high-quality firmware.

You will collaborate with ASIC, hardware and design teams, lead development and validation efforts, and mentor engineers while operating in an Agile/Kanban environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years in software/firmware in embedded systems, 8+ years in SSD firmware architecture or NAND flash storage.
• Technical leadership across cross-functional teams incl. ASIC, hardware, firmware, validation, product engineering, manufacturing.
• Expertise in SSD firmware tech: FTL, QoS, wear leveling, garbage collection, bad block management, ECC, power-loss protection.

Responsibilities

• Cross-domain system and product level technical leadership.
• Drive architectural requirements for new customer feature requests.
• Lead, develop, review, document product source code in C/C++.
• Develop firmware per internal/external specifications.
• Perform unit and system level testing including failure analysis.
