Job summary

State Treasurer (NC Department of State Treasurer) seeks an Accountant IV to lead the preparation of annual financial statements and note disclosures for SRPs, ensure GAAP/GASB compliance, and support the NC Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

The role interacts with the Retirement Division, external auditors, custodian, and OSC, handling budget reviews and fee analyses for investment management. Hybrid telework is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline with 18 accounting hours.
• Five years of professional accounting/auditing experience.
• Experience in preparation of financial statements and reports.

Responsibilities

• Leads the preparation of the annual financial statements including note disclosures for the SRPs for audit by external auditor.
• Ensures statements are in compliance with GAAP and GASB.
• Leads year-end financial reporting pertaining to the SRPs.
• Responds to inquiries by the Office of State Auditor and OSC.
• Reviews budget reports for the SRP and ABLE operating funds.
