Globalstar runs a large-scale monitoring and data platform that provides real-time and historical visibility into satellite and ground infrastructure health.

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen reliability, performance, and on‑call depth across infrastructure, data pipelines, and operations. The role spans design, implementation, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform/Data Engineering roles at scale.
• Experience with modern data infrastructure: streaming pipelines, large storage, analytical engines.
• Proficiency in at least one systems programming language (Go/Java) used for backend services.
• Practical experience with observability and monitoring tooling in production.
• On-call experience with incident response and postmortems.
• Comfort with infrastructure-as-code and modern CI/CD/GitOps.
• Strong communication to explain tradeoffs to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own health and performance of a large-scale data and monitoring pipeline.
• Improve system performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
• Evaluate and integrate monitoring and data-platform tools, lead pilots.
• Design and maintain deterministic checks for alerting and data quality.
• Lead or contribute to incident response, on-call rotations, root-cause analysis, postmortems.
• Support disaster-recovery planning and failover exercises.
• Plan capacity and communicate tradeoffs with leadership.
• Champion IaC and automated deployments across the platform.
• Mentor engineers and build institutional knowledge.
