Job summary

Fleetio is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to scale our Ruby on Rails stack and infrastructure. You will improve performance, reliability, and scalability while embracing AI-powered workflows and automation.

This role emphasizes collaboration with platform engineers and cross-functional teams to optimize systems and databases. You will join a remote-friendly team in the United States, contributing to incident response, monitoring, and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Ruby/Rails experience.
• 3+ years of AWS experience.
• Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with profiling and benchmarking source code.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, triage, and resolve performance issues.
• Enhance observability by monitoring metrics across Ruby, Rails, and databases, including SLOs/SLIs.
• Build and maintain AI agents, skills, and automations to reduce toil across incident response and maintenance.
• Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate performance analysis and root-cause investigation.
• Collaborate with other SREs to address performance bottlenecks.
• Lead database capacity planning and upgrade initiatives.
• Manage database components of disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Oversee backup systems and pre-production databases.
• Create/runbooks and context for engineers and AI agents.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
