Job summary

Alpaca is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to keep our brokerage platform reliable, observable, and operable as we scale. You’ll work across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, observability stack, messaging, and data layers, with emphasis on PostgreSQL on the trading path.

Grow ownership of database reliability while remaining a strong, well-rounded SRE. You’ll participate in on-call, incident response, postmortems, and help define SLIs/SLOs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in SRE/DevOps/Platform with production ownership
• Hands-on Kubernetes and IaC in GitOps
• Strong PostgreSQL skills in production and online migrations
• Cloud networking fundamentals and Linux proficiency
• Go or Python proficiency and solid communication

Responsibilities

• Operate production day-to-day: on-call, incidents, postmortems
• Own reliability practice: define SLIs/SLOs and budgets
• Improve observability across metrics, logs, traces, and alerts
• Ship infrastructure as code via GitOps for cloud and Kubernetes workloads
• Mentor engineers on reliability and database fundamentals
