Kong is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager for Managed Gateways SREs to define and drive reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. You will build and lead the team from the ground up in Seattle, remaining hands-on early on while delivering mission-critical infrastructure for global developers.

You will own end-to-end lifecycle, implement SLOs/SLIs, and collaborate across Product, Eng, and Support to shape roadmap decisions for new features and enterprise deployments.

Formación

• Proven experience leading SRE/DevOps teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating highly available distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Proficiency in Golang or similar modern programming languages for automation.
• Strong observability foundations with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent—monitoring, tracing, logging.

Responsabilidades

• Build Kong's Managed Gateways SRE team in Seattle, Washington from the ground up—hire, set standards, and stay hands-on initially.
• Contribute directly to critical reliability work in early stages to move the business forward.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing SRE team supporting global enterprise customers across Americas and Europe.
• Architect and implement scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems using Kubernetes and major cloud providers.
• Own end-to-end operational lifecycle: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and blameless post-mortems.
