tastytrade, part of IG Group, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to fortify Linux systems and application observability. Based in Chicago with a hybrid schedule, you will shape reliability for order execution and market data delivery, collaborating with Ruby, Java, and Elixir services.

You will build self-healing infrastructure, close telemetry gaps, and drive capacity planning across Nomad fabric, mentoring teams toward a blameless post-incident culture.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing fault-tolerant, self-healing distributed systems.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana instrumentation.
• Strong Linux internals and networking; production on-call experience.

Responsibilities

• Build self-healing, fault-tolerant infrastructure and internal tooling to reduce toil.
• Close telemetry gaps across observability stack and improve alerting coverage.
• Own scalability work across Nomad service fabric: capacity planning and bottleneck ID.
• Mentor engineers to establish a blameless, reliability-driven culture.
