Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an experienced SRE Lead to establish and mature our reliability practice across cloud infrastructure and platform services. You will define targets, improve observability, and ensure production systems can be operated and recovered predictably.

This deeply technical, hands-on role requires mentoring teams, driving RCA, and promoting a reliability-first mindset across Cloud Engineering and product groups.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in SRE, software or infra engineering.
• Experience running production services with defined availability targets.
• Experience with SLIs/SLOs, monitoring and incident response.
• Experience designing infra in AWS or similar cloud.
• Infrastructure-as-code and automation experience.
• Experience with containers and distributed systems.
• Strong Python or Go scripting/automation skills.
• Ability to diagnose complex multi-layer failures.
• Leadership in incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to craft multi-quarter technical roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement SLIs, SLOs and reliability metrics.
• Build and improve monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerts.
• Lead incident response and drive root-cause analysis.
• Identify failure modes and work with teams to prevent them.
• Improve resilience via automation, testing and capacity planning.
• Develop tooling to reduce manual operational work.
• Partner with product and platform teams on reliability requirements.
• Establish incident response practices and communication norms.
• Mentor engineers and promote reliability practices.
• Shape SRE roadmap and distribute work across the team.
