Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and manage scalable infrastructure and automation across Compute products. You will drive reliability, performance, and efficiency for our customer-facing services.

You will lead incident response, define SLOs/KPIs, mentor teams, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Support to improve reliability. This role requires Linux expertise and a strong development or SysAdmin background.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant experience in a senior or lead role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with architecting hardware, software, and infrastructure at scale.
• Expert-level in development or sysadmin roles for large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to align engineering work with strategic business initiatives and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Defining requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
• Providing support, leadership and motivation for project teams.
• Creating and maintaining SLOs and KPIs, collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Support teams.
• Engaging with support, operations, hardware, and engineering to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems, including incident management and post-mortem reviews.
• Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues.
