Job summary

FACT-Finder seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to keep our SaaS platforms fast, available, and scalable as we migrate to a modern Kubernetes-based hybrid platform. You will define SLOs/SLIs, own incident response, and push automation through GitOps while supporting NG Search Operator development and auto-scaling rollout.

You will collaborate with Hosting and engineering teams across Europe, plan capacity for on-prem and cloud, and advance observability.

Qualifications

SRE experience in a SaaS or platform environment with responsibility for reliability and performance.
Strong understanding of SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and observability.
Hands-on Kubernetes experience, cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, and operator patterns.
Familiarity with Harvester or comparable HCI/virtualization platforms (KubeVirt, vSphere/ESXi, OpenStack).
Experience with GitOps tools (Argo CD / Flux) and container storage (Longhorn, Ceph).
Knowledge of auto-scaling primitives (HPA, VPA, KEDA) and capacity planning on-prem and in the cloud.
Networking in production datacenters (VLAN) and a bias toward automation to reduce toil.

Responsibilities

Define and own SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets across products.
Drive incident response with blameless postmortems and follow-up actions.
Automate operations with GitOps and self-healing capabilities.
Support NG Search Operator development and auto-scaling rollout (HPA, VPA, KEDA).
Advance observability: metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and runbooks.
Plan capacity and cost for on-prem (Frankfurt, Stockholm) and cloud, incl. burst scaling.
Leverage AI tools to speed up diagnosis and operational workflows.
