Job summary

FYUL is hiring a Senior SRE II to join Platform Infrastructure. You’ll architect and drive large‑scale automation, split time between hands‑on work with Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Solid Linux systems administration background and Python scripting.
• Strong AWS knowledge: EKS, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, SQS; multi-account environments preferred.
• Hands‑on Kubernetes (EKS) at production scale; Helm, CNI (Cilium), IPAM, container security (ECR).
• Terraform and Terragrunt for multi‑environment management; GitOps with ArgoCD.
• PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB in production; Aurora experience a plus.
• CI/CD with Jenkins or GitHub Actions; blue/green or canary deployment familiarity.
• Grafana/Prometheus/Loki/Tempo/Mimir for observability; designing dashboards and alerts.
• Incident management: on‑call, runbooks, postmortems.
• 12‑Factor and FinOps awareness; cost optimization practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage highly available, secure, scalable infrastructure across AWS accounts.
• Design and operate EKS clusters including networking and storage strategies.
• Own core platform services: cloud networking, Kubernetes, DBs, messaging systems.
• Drive large‑scale automation with Terraform/Terragrunt and GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Lead automation adoption to reduce manual work and ensure repeatable environments.
• Act as primary resolver for cross‑service infra incidents and runbooks.
• Improve reliability and observability with Grafana/Prometheus stack and distributed tracing.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and write ADRs and postmortems.
• Mentor mid‑level SREs and onboard new team members.
