Job summary

Apple is seeking a Sr Site Reliability Engineer for Retail and Marcom Engineering in Austin, TX. You will drive reliability, availability, and scale for www.apple.com interactive marketing experiences, owning critical systems end-to-end and setting technical direction for reliability across the team.

You will mentor engineers, work with product and engineering teams to embed reliability requirements, and lead on-call, postmortems, and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on experience as a systems, storage, or cloud engineer, owning production systems at scale.
• Knowledge of Linux utilities and internals.
• Expertise in version control (Git) and automated build/test systems (Jenkins, Vagrant).
• Experience with Kubernetes (on-premise or cloud).
• Experience with storage platforms (NetApp, Isilon, object storage).
• Configuration management (Puppet, Ansible).
• Automation in Python or Go.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own highly available, resilient systems across infrastructure, storage, and cloud platforms.
• Set reliability engineering practices, on-call strategy, incident response, and SLIs/SLOs.
• Drive capacity and scalability planning with load testing and forecasting.
• Own incident response and postmortems for production systems; drive root-cause fixes.
• Design and evolve infrastructure-as-code and automation standards.
• Administer and scale database and storage systems at production scale.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical rigor across the team.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed reliability in development lifecycle.
• Evaluate and introduce new tools to improve reliability and velocity.
