Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• 3 years of people or team management experience.
• 3 years of leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Software/Systems Engineers on projects and own uptime.
• Own end-to-end availability and performance of key services; build automation to prevent recurrence and automate responses.
• Mentor the team and establish credibility through quality execution.
• Coordinate on-call rotations across continents using follow-the-sun model.
• Design, write and deliver software to improve availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of Google's services.
