Job summary

Workday Government is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to guide Kubernetes platform initiatives in AWS GovCloud. You will lead infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and secure air-gapped deployments while working with a collaborative, cross-functional team.

You will mentor peers, design scalable systems, and contribute to high-impact outcomes in a federal contracting environment. The role requires on-site work in the DC/MD/VA region and security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building, scaling, production cloud infra or platform engineering.
• 3+ years with Terraform or Terragrunt and 3+ years with CI/CD tools like Argo CD/Jenkins/GitLab CI.
• Proficiency in Go or Python and strong scripting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Run, scale, and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes in AWS GovCloud.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment pipelines using Terraform, Terragrunt, Docker, AWS, Argo CD.
• Design secure air-gapped deployments and maintain observability tooling.
• Build monitoring, logging, and alerting for high availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with security and other teams to meet federal standards.
• Document architecture, lead reviews, and share knowledge across teams.
