Job summary

Workday Government is seeking a Sr Software Development Engineer to guide the Kubernetes platform in AWS GovCloud, improving automation, CI/CD, and reliability. You will mentor teammates, collaborate with security leaders, and drive scalable solutions for federal contracts.

You will join a strong engineering team focused on outcomes, cross-functional partnerships, and high-quality code. The role may require on-site work in the DC/MD/VA region with a flexible work approach.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience building production cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, or platform engineering systems.
Terraform/Terragrunt proficiency (3+ years).
CI/CD & GitOps experience (3+ years) with Argo CD/Jenkins/GitLab CI.
Go or Python programming experience (3+ years).
Technical leadership: lead initiatives, mentor juniors, troubleshoot distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Run, manage, and scale containerized workloads on Kubernetes clusters in AWS GovCloud.
Automate infrastructure and deployment pipelines with Terraform, Terragrunt, Docker, AWS, and Argo CD.
Design air-gapped deployment methodologies to meet strict security/compliance requirements.
Build observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting for high availability.
Collaborate with security and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable outcomes.
