Job summary

Workday is seeking a highly motivated Senior/ Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Platform Engineering team in the Washington, DC metro area. You will help design, build, and operate a Kubernetes-based platform with a strong emphasis on automation, observability, security, and reliability for federal contracts that require U.S.

citizenship. On-site at client locations in the DMV area, with potential security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with large scale cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security, and software development engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions for Kubernetes platform, including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security tooling.
• Build and maintain core platform components for high availability, scalability, and security.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments using Terraform and Argo CD.
• Troubleshoot platform-related issues and collaborate with peer development teams to resolve problems.
• Implement and maintain security standards and ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform components and processes; share knowledge within the team.
