Job summary

Workday is seeking a highly motivated Senior/ Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Platform Engineering team in the Washington, DC metro area. You will help design, build, and operate a Kubernetes-based platform with a strong emphasis on automation, observability, security, and reliability for federal contracts that require U.S.

citizenship. On-site at client locations in the DMV area, with potential security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands‑on experience with large scale cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security, and software development engineering.
Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Design and implement solutions for Kubernetes platform, including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security tooling.
Build and maintain core platform components for high availability, scalability, and security.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments using Terraform and Argo CD.
Troubleshoot platform-related issues and collaborate with peer development teams to resolve problems.
Implement and maintain security standards and ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform components and processes; share knowledge within the team.
