Job summary

Datavant is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for the Data & ML Platform team. You will build and operate a resilient, observable, and scalable data platform supporting data and ML workloads across the organization.

You will work with Data Scientists, Analysts, and App Engineers to ensure secure, self-service, production-grade systems, balancing velocity, safety, and cost in a hybrid cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps roles
• Hands-on Databricks experience including workspace setup and cluster management
• Deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure on AWS (or similar)
• Observability tooling expertise with Datadog
• Strong CI/CD tooling experience including GitHub Actions and Terraform
• Shell scripting and Python proficiency
• Experience building highly available, fault-tolerant systems
• Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Databricks and Snowflake platforms lifecycle, including automation and cost optimization
• Design for reliability across cloud environments with failover and autoscaling
• Advance observability with platform-wide monitoring, alerting, and logging
• Drive CI/CD for data pipelines, ML workloads, and infra components using GitHub Actions and IaC
• Enable data flow across Snowflake, S3, Delta Lake, and Kafka across clouds
• Champion event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SNS/SQS, and Lambda
• Collaborate with analytics, data science, and product teams as platform partner
• Contribute to data platform architecture, ML enablement, and data product strategy
