Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Data & ML Platform team. You will own the lifecycle of Databricks and Snowflake platforms, drive reliability, observability, and automated deployments across a hybrid cloud.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to build a secure, scalable data platform. You will influence data architecture and ML enablement while balancing velocity, safety, and cost.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps roles.
• AI-native working style with tools that accelerate a team.
• Hands-on Databricks experience including workspace setup and cluster/job management; Snowflake experience.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure on AWS or similar.
• Proven expertise with observability tools (Datadog) and building platform-wide monitoring.
• Strong CI/CD skills with GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Shell scripting and Python knowledge.
• Experience building highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Databricks and Snowflake platforms (automation, governance, job orchestration).
• Design for reliability across cloud environments; plan for failover and autoscaling.
• Advance observability with monitoring, alerting, and logging; define SLOs/SLAs.
• Drive CI/CD for data pipelines and ML workloads using GitHub Actions and IaC tooling.
• Enable data flow across platforms (Snowflake, S3, Delta Lake, Kafka).
• Champion event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SNS/SQS, and Lambda.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, and app teams as platform partner.
• Contribute to data platform strategy, ML enablement, and data product direction.
