Job summary
Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Staff SRE for the Cortex Observability team. You will operate and maintain a large-scale GCP environment, shaping observability through advanced monitoring, tracing, and logging strategies.
You’ll partner with engineering to deliver reliable, high-performance services. The role emphasizes on-call coverage, cloud-native operations, and continuous improvement of monitoring architecture, with collaboration across teams to ensure system health and performance
Qualifications
- Proven experience with large-scale observability and monitoring practices.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, especially GCP.
- Experience in SRE/DevOps with focus on reliability and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Expertise: Optimize infrastructure using GCP and cloud-native tech.
- Monitoring Expertise: Improve alerts, metrics, and service observability.
- Incident Management: Manage incidents with minimal service impact.
- Automation: Build tools for automated remediation and autoscaling.
- Continuously Improve: Stay current with new tech and apply where relevant.
- On-Call: Provide follow-the-sun coverage for Observability infra.
- Collaborate: Work with Engineering to ensure reliability of services.
