Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer for the Cortex platform to architect, scale, and optimize a massive multi-region GCP environment. You will set engineering standards, drive infrastructure-as-code, and align product engineering with CI/CD practices to ensure resilience and cost-efficiency.

You will own strategic cloud architecture, lead cross-functional DevOps initiatives, and mentor engineers while maintaining high availability and secure cloud operations across regions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of DevOps/SRE/Cloud Architecture experience owning large-scale production environments.
• Deep expertise in GCP or AWS; multi-region architectures and IAM governance.
• Kubernetes mastery and cloud-native ecosystem experience.
• Proficient in Python or Go; Terraform module design and automation.
• Experience with enterprise CI/CD, GitOps, and modern pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect global, multi-region cloud infrastructure strategy using IaC (Terraform).
• Lead secure, self-healing CI/CD workflows to accelerate Cortex feature delivery.
• Optimize cost and performance across the global GCP footprint (FinOps).
• Advise Product Engineering to ensure services are containerized, scalable, and observable.
• Lead incident governance, post-mortems, and systemic resilience improvements.
