Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of our global services. You’ll work to improve scalability, operability, and performance, provisioning and scaling production systems across data centers and AWS.

You’ll enjoy a collaborative environment, automation, and on-call responsibilities with cross-functional teams. The role requires 7+ years in systems, networking, or cloud troubleshooting, IaC proficiency, and strong scripting skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in troubleshooting and tuning in systems, networking, and cloud services.
• Collaborative, cross-functional team player with strong communication.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Automation and scripting experience (Node.js, Python).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, LDAP; large distributed environments; public clouds.

Responsibilities

• Participate in 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure operations.
• Provision, maintain, and scale production services across data centers and AWS.
• Monitor, alert, capacity planning, and reporting in production.
• Drive architecture improvements for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• On-call rotation and escalation handling as needed.
