Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to advance our production infrastructure across data centers and AWS. You will contribute to architecture for scalability, reliability and performance while provisioning and scaling services.

The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration with Product, Engineering and Operations, and a strong focus on automation, monitoring and incident response. Applicants must be US citizens.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in troubleshooting, tuning in systems, networking and cloud services.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.
• Experience automating management tasks using Node.js, Python, or scripting languages.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and LDAP.
• Experience managing large distributed computing environments and cloud infrastructure.
• BS or MS in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Build strong partnerships across Product, Engineering and Operations teams.
• Support 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting and security.
• Troubleshoot complex problems across networks, hardware and software for scale and performance.
• Ensure monitoring, alerting, capacity planning and reporting in production.
• Contribute to design and architecture of reliable, scalable infrastructure.
• Be first line of defense during working hours for alerts or incidents.
• Collaborate with product engineering to ensure deployment standards and successful rollouts.
• Participate in on-call rotation and escalate as needed.
