Job summary

RBC Wealth Management Technology in Minneapolis is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Wealth Management SRE Team. You will focus on reliability, automation, and observability across critical applications and platforms that support wealth management for internal users and clients.

You will implement intelligent monitoring, incident response improvements, and self-healing operations using tools like Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or related roles.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and Ansible.
• Strong scripting in Bash, Python, PowerShell.
• Hands-on with Elasticsearch, Dynatrace, GitHub, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Kafka, PagerDuty, Moogsoft.
• Knowledge of cloud-native distributed systems and AI/ML concepts in operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance the SRE product base with intelligent monitoring, alerting, reliability testing, anomaly detection, and automated remediation capabilities.
• Implement modern observability practices – Deploy metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerting across supported applications.
• Design ML-based anomaly detection and self-healing solutions – Predictive operations with automated issue remediation and governance.
• Standardize telemetry and instrumentation – Improve visibility and correlation of operational signals across platforms.
• Automate operational workflows – Use Ansible, GitHub Actions, and scripting to streamline platform tasks and develop tooling.
• Define and track service health metrics – Establish SLIs, SLOs, and runbooks for automation-first remediation patterns.
• Partner with development teams – Ensure applications meet reliability and performance standards.
• Lead incident and problem management – Troubleshoot production issues and drive RCA and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement – Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and modernize operations using AI-driven approaches.
